“Unveiling the Secrets of Polish Taekwon-Do: Join Roy for an exciting ITF Radix Seminar This Weekend!”

As I prepare to embark on my journey to Kłobuck, Poland, this Friday, I find myself immersed in the rich history of Polish Taekwon-Do, a legacy that has grown into one of the most formidable in Europe. This trip is more than just a seminar; it’s a journey into the heart of a martial arts tradition that has stood the test of time.

A Legacy Rooted in Resilience

Poland’s Taekwon-Do story began in 1974 when Jerzy Konarski introduced the martial art to Lublin. Over the decades, it flourished, with clubs sprouting across the country and Polish athletes making their mark in international competitions. The establishment of the Polish Taekwon-Do Association (PZTKD) in 1993 was a significant milestone, providing a structured framework that elevated the sport’s status within the country.

Polish practitioners have consistently demonstrated their prowess on the global stage, often leading the medal counts at European and World Championships. This success is a testament to their dedication, discipline, and deep understanding of Taekwon-Do’s principles. It’s a legacy that continues to inspire new generations of martial artists, and one that I am honored to engage with through the ITF Radix seminar.

The people behind ITF in Poland are a dedicated and hard-working community. Here's a picture from their 50th anniversary last year.

The Seminar: A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

This weekend’s seminar in Kłobuck, hosted by Sabum Łukasz Grygiel from The Black Belt Project, is set against this vibrant backdrop of Polish Taekwon-Do excellence. Sabum Grygiel, a VI Dan black belt with over 25 years of experience, is known for his innovative training methods and deep commitment to the art. Together, we aim to explore the roots of the techniques used in Taekwon-Do patterns, uncovering their alternative or original applications.

The ITF Radix seminar is not just a training session; it’s a deep dive into the practical combat implementations rooted in ITF patterns. Over the course of two days, participants will explore the vast possibilities hidden within familiar movements, transforming their understanding of Taekwon-Do from a set of forms into a comprehensive fighting system.

A Meeting of Minds and Traditions

Kłobuck, with its rich cultural heritage, provides a fitting venue for this exchange of knowledge. It’s a town that embodies the resilience and spirit of Poland, much like the martial art that has taken root here. As I prepare to meet and train with practitioners from across the country, I am filled with anticipation. This is an opportunity to learn as much as it is to teach, a chance to contribute to a legacy that has been building for nearly five decades.

For those interested in joining us, the seminar will be held at the Sports Hall of Primary School No. 1, located at Baczynskiego 2 in Kłobuck, on January 18th and 19th, 2025. It’s a chance to delve deeper into the art of Taekwon-Do, to challenge oneself, and to be part of a community that values both tradition and innovation.

Looking to the Future

As I set out for Kłobuck, I am reminded of the enduring power of Taekwon-Do. It’s a martial art that continues to evolve, to inspire, and to bring people together. I am excited to be part of this journey, to share my knowledge, and to learn from the rich history and vibrant community of Polish Taekwon-Do. This seminar promises to be an enlightening experience, one that honors the past while looking boldly to the future. I look forward to seeing you there!
