A Weekend to Remember – ITF Radix Seminar in Åndalsnes
By Roy Rolstad
This past weekend, I had the privilege of conducting an ITF Radix seminar in Åndalsnes, Norway—a place that never fails to impress with its breathtaking scenery and warm hospitality. A huge thank you to Volker Kalms, his wife, and the fantastic team from Åndalsnes Taekwon-Do Club for organizing and hosting this great event!
A Scenic Start to the Weekend
Before diving into the seminar, Volker and I took the opportunity to explore the incredible nature surrounding Åndalsnes. On Friday, we took the gondola to the top and hiked down to the famous Rampestreken viewpoint. As you can see from the pictures, the views were absolutely stunning! Åndalsnes is truly a unique place, with scenery that makes every visit unforgettable.
Seminar Highlights in Isfjorden
The seminar was held in Isfjorden over the weekend, with 21 participants from local clubs joining in. Saturday focused on the fundamentals of ITF Radix, ensuring that everyone had a solid base to build on. On Sunday, we progressed to more advanced techniques, refining details and deepening understanding.
Preparing for Gradings and Belt Testing
The main theme of the weekend was preparing students for gradings and belt testing. To aid in their progress, participants had the chance to record videos of their techniques, allowing them to review and refine their movements later. This is an effective way to track development and ensure continuous improvement.
Grateful for an Amazing Weekend
It was truly a pleasure to be back in Åndalsnes, sharing knowledge and training together with such a dedicated group. Thank you all for your enthusiasm, effort, and for making this seminar a success.
You guys are awesome! Looking forward to the next time!
