KICKOFF 2025: A Milestone Event for Oslo East Taekwon-Do Club

By Roy Rolstad on behalf of everyone at Oslo East Taekwon-Do Club

The Oslo East Taekwon-Do Club KICKOFF 2025 was a resounding success, bringing together 87 Taekwon-Do athletes from 13 clubs for a day of intense training, camaraderie, and growth. The event unfolded smoothly, exactly as planned, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.

A Full Day of Skill Development

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to engage in a variety of training sessions, all designed to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of ITF Taekwon-Do. We covered all Blackbelt patterns, from Kwang-Gae to Tong-Il, with focused instruction from Celine, Simen, and Andreas. Their guidance helped everyone refine their techniques, ensuring a thorough understanding of each pattern.

Our sparring sessions, led by Nanna and Arne Martin, were a highlight, offering two action-packed rounds that challenged participants to apply their skills in dynamic scenarios. It was thrilling to see the adaptability and determination on display as athletes from different clubs sparred with one another, learning and growing together.

The power breaking sessions, conducted by Kai and Stian, were equally impressive, with two opportunities for participants to test their strength and precision. The focus and concentration required for breaking are immense, and the sound of smashing pads echoed through the dojang, a testament to the hard work of everyone involved.

Showcasing ITF Radix

One of the standout elements of the day for me was the self-defense sessions, where I had the honor of presenting ITF Radix. These sessions were a chance to explore the practical applications of our patterns for real-world self-defense. The engagement and enthusiasm from participants were fantastic, and it was rewarding to see everyone thinking critically about how to apply their training beyond the dojang.

Strength and Conditioning

To ensure a well-rounded experience, we also included two calisthenics sessions, led by Camilla and our special guest from Poland, Łukasz. These sessions focused on building strength, endurance, and overall fitness, reminding everyone of the importance of physical conditioning in Taekwon-Do. They pushed everyone to their limits, fostering both physical and mental resilience.

A Community Effort

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, and we are incredibly proud of the instructors who brought their expertise and passion to every session. Their hard work and dedication made the KICKOFF 2025 a truly memorable experience for everyone involved.

As organizers, we’re thrilled with the outcome of the day. The event not only showcased the talent and commitment within our Taekwon-Do community but also strengthened the bonds between our clubs. It was a day filled with learning, growth, and mutual support, embodying the spirit of ITF Taekwon-Do.

Looking Forward

As we reflect on the success of KICKOFF 2025, we’re excited for what the rest of the year holds. This event set a strong foundation for future gatherings, and we look forward to continuing to build on this momentum. To everyone who participated, thank you for your enthusiasm and hard work. You made this event what it was, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.

For those who couldn’t join us this time, stay tuned for upcoming events. There’s always another opportunity to train, learn, and connect with your Taekwon-Do family.

On behalf of everyone at Oslo East Taekwon-Do Club, thank you for making KICKOFF 2025 a success. Let’s continue to grow together!
